Invitattion – 65th session of the UN Commission on narcotic drugs

Dear colleagues,

As anticipated in the previous email on the 65th session of the UN Commission on narcotic drugs, we are pleased to invite you to take part in this high-level side event

“The Humanitarian approach to drug policy: Opportunities and challenges for effective cooperation between public authorities and health-based organizations”

This meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 13.10 – 14.00 CET.

For the very first time, the Member States together with the UN leaders and CSO will talk about the “Rome Consensus 2.0 towards Humanitarian Drug Policy. This is an achievement that will increase our credits and visibility on this international initiative that aims to provide health strategies to Tackle Substance Abuse problems. The Panel is composed by:

  • Ministers of Italy and Kenya
  • UN Directors of WHO and UNODC
  • Director of Pompidou Group – Council of Europe
  • ERNA President – Massimo Barra (on behalf of the IFRC) CSOs representative
