KEEP THE LIGHTS ON – A Stop TB Partnership Campaign to Sustain TB Survivor Networks and Local Community Organizations

The US Government is undertaking an evaluation of all foreign assistance programs in accordance with the US President’s Executive Order on Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid. During this evaluation, many local TB community organizations and survivor networks are unable to access funding and are unable to work.

In this context, the Stop TB Partnership, in collaboration with TB-affected communities, is launching the “Keep the Lights On” campaign. This urgent fundraising initiative aims to sustain TB survivor networks and local community organizations previously supported by the Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) and country-level Stop TB Partnership platform grants. These groups now face a crisis due to the unexpected funding halt.

We are not just a network—we are a family. Built over years of dedication, we have succeeded incredibly in saving lives and supporting people affected by TB worldwide. In December 2024, we celebrated our progress and reaffirmed our commitment to ending TB by 2030. We cannot afford to let these efforts crumble overnight.

Why It Matters

TB community organizations are the frontline heroes in the fight to end TB, reaching people where health systems fall short. Without immediate financial support, these organizations face closure—putting countless lives at risk. They provide:

  • TB education and screening for children, workers, and families.
  • Access to life-saving diagnosis and treatment.
  • Mental health counseling and nutritional support.
  • Advocacy for improved TB tools and increased domestic funding.
  • TB preventive therapy and supply chain monitoring.
  • Stigma reduction and outreach to high-risk industries.

Without sustained funding, millions will be left without critical support leading to increased TB transmission and lives lost.
