ART


Set up by the IFRC in 1994, the Asian Red Cross and Red Crescent AIDS Task Force (ART) has brought together China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam and, since last year, Cambodia and South Korea.ART is one of the best examples of networking at the Movement.

ART Objectives:

  • To promote National Societies’ participation in HIV/AIDS activities
  • To ensure relevant inter country collaboration on HIV/AIDS issues

Long Term Goals of ART:

All member National Societies have the capacity to effectively deliver HIV/AIDS related programs especially in the areas of Prevention, Home-based care, Psychological support, Discrimination and Harm Reduction for:

  • Youth, Women and Children
  • Red Cross Youth
  • Vulnerable Youth, Women & Children
  • Persons Living with HIV/AIDS
  • Commercial Sex Workers
  • Other risk groups e.g. Ethnic minorities
